Virginia Local Rules and Orders

This is a compiliation of as many local rules and ordinances of the Courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia

This page came about because I was looking for local rules for a particular court in Virginia (no names). I knew that these existed because I was told that I was not in compliance with a particular rule (something was not filed that needed to be filed. I politely asked where I could find the local rule that I was not in compliance with and could not be given a straight answer. After much digging, one of the clerks "believed" that it was in a specific location. Needless to say it was a touch frustrating.

I set out to try to obtain as many local rules and local Orders as I could to make it easier for me. Since most rules and Orders are contained in the Court themselves, accessing them is not particularly easy. If they are sent to the local Bar association, well one may not be able to access them if he/she is not a member of that Bar association.

I am going to try to post everything in PDF format for ease of use and downloading. This may not be possible in all situations.

Lastly, if you have local rules or Orders that you do not mind sharing it would be appreciated. It would save me time and effort as well as helping the next person looking for an Order.
